Ask yourself now. What is it about what I do that is remarkable? If you can answer the question then that’s great but if you can’t why do you assume that anyone else will find the remarkable in what you do? In a world where too many are trying to produce average things for average people the problem is that you will be the same as everyone else. That’s why being remarkable is effective and being all things to all men isn’t.
If you do something that is remarkable then suddenly you stand out from the crowd. You don’t need expensive marketing because people remark on your product or service because it is remarkable. The down side is that because it’s not for everyone then the remarks will be both positive and negative. Don’t worry about the negative remarks, it just means that what you do isn’t for them. Negative reviews of a hairdresser from a bald man are not a problem The hairdresser I’d not for him!!!!
In my other business we have a product where people constantly remark “gosh I haven’t seen that for years” or “what’s that? Can I really eat it?” When they try it they either love it or hate it. It’s not for everyone but we can concentrate on our minimum viable market and be the best in that market. It’s like Marmite – love it or hate it. The same with this blog. Some people read it and never come back, some think it’s great and subscribe. Those who don’t come back, then fine, it’s not for them. Those who read it regularly or subscribe, often remark on it to me when we meet. I hope that means it’s remarkable. The idea is not to make the blog for everyone, it’s really not a numbers game. I hope it’s for you, but if it’s not, then no problem.
In a world of average be remarkable. If you want to be effective be remarkable.
